My name is Lucretia Field and I have loved to create all sorts of things for as long as I can remember. I do freelance engineering, from breadboard prototyping and PCB design, to writing instructional and educational engineering tutorials.
In December 2020, I graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in electrical engineering. I have worked on various small multi-disciplinary teams designing PCBs, testing materials, and creating CAD for 3D printing. Recently, I worked for Pixelumen Lab designing, prototyping, and testing a custom lighting device in addition to doing contract lighting work at the National Portrait Gallery and Smithsonian American Art Museum.
I am an active contributor to Instructables and have won contests for some of my tutorials. I also write lessons for the website Ohmify which is a community driven electronics education website.
I’ve worked in theatrical scene fabrication with M Sheehan Builders and through school and personal projects. Creating spectacles through lighting, scenic, and costume design and fabrication is a passion of mine which ties my dual love of elegant engineering and artistic expression together.
